Whether you are looking for beautiful coffee table books about Peru, chic alpaca fashion or modernist silver jewellery, Larcomar has endless shopping options.
The mall also has great places to get food or have a drink, many with dazzling views of the Pacific below.
Describing Larcomar as a mall simply does not do the place justice. Built vertically into a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, in the heart of Lima’s Mirflores district, this open air shopping center has some of the most spectacular views available in our city. Below Larcomar, far below, is the Pacific, often with surfers riding the waves. On windy days, you will also often find paragliders swooping low overhead, making the most of the fresh ocean breeze.
When it comes to shopping, Larcomar provides a one-stop shop for buying all the souvenirs and presents you might want from your trip to Peru. There are numerous stores offering high end Peruvian fashions and handicrafts, from designer alpaca threads to contemporary ceramics and hard wood objets, as well as plenty of stores selling imported consumer items, everything from snazzy kitchen gadgets to outdoor gear from brands such as the North Face and Patagonia that you might want to buy before heading off into the Andes.
But Larcomar also has numerous restaurants and a few good bars. There are great Peruvian options, such as Papacho’s the gourmet hamburger chain run by Peru’s most celebrated chef, Gastón Acurio, to purveyors of criollo classics such as ceviche and lomo saltado, not to mention numerous places to enjoy some wonderful Peruvian coffee or an ice cream. Many visitors often hit Larcomar on their last day in Peru. That always works but, if you are staying in Lima a couple of days or more, we think you’ll also enjoy spending a relaxed few hours there when you still have time to spare.
